The long-awaited follow-up to the Samsung Galaxy Tab line of tablets were now officially launched in the Philippines a few days ago. Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 series hopes to achieve the same success and attention its predecessor had during its prime time. Let’s see and check if they have good features and specifications to duplicate the success.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 tablets features dual-core processors, 1GB of RAM, 16GB up to 32 on-board storage, texting and calling feature, and the usual TouchWiz UI skin from Samsung partnered with Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich. A fast HSDPA connectivity of 21Mbps will also be included in so that you’ll have a greater web browsing experience. However, that is if you get the 3G and Wi-Fi version of the tablet.

Video chatting in the tablet is also applicable as it has a VGA front camera aside from its 3.15MP main camera. Both the two variants; Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 and Galaxy Tab 2 10.1, will have sufficient power as the Samsung Tab 2 7.0 will be powered by a 4,000mAh battery while the Samsung Tab 2 10.1 will get a larger 7,000mAh treatment.

These tablets sure offer lots of features but be sure to check out other tablets like the Nexus 7, Asus Transformer Pad 300, and iPad 2 before deciding which one to get.

      1. hi po ask ko lang if yung ipad mini pwde rin gsm calls and sms like samsung tab 27.0?

  1. I would like to ask,if i just choose the wifi version of the tablet only ..can i get the internet experience really fast and good unlike those in just samsung galaxy phones before… and can i txt and call here without 3g? thank u so much. im planning to buy one by the end of october but im pretty clueless of the features it brings by this samsung galaxy tab 2 7.0

    1. Yes, you can still surf the web but the speed will rely on your Wi-Fi connection (slow connection=slow surfing). You can also send text messages and calls without 3G but you can only do it when you have an internet connection. There are several apps for that but the most popular one is Viber. By the way, we ‘might’ release a Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 Wi-Fi review in the upcoming weeks. =)

  2. can we make regular calls eg. smart or globe with galaxy tab 2 and make sms? thank u.. planning to buy one… but not yet decide.

    1. Yes, it can run Skype. It depends on your preference but if you will get the Wi-Fi only version of the Galaxy Tab 2, I’ll suggest to buy the Nexus 7 instead since it is both Wi-Fi only but the latter has a quad-core processor.
