Starmobile released two new smartphones to further expand their portfolio. The Starmobile Play Dash, and the one we’re going to talk about here – the Starmobile UP Prime.
This device is a follow up to their current UP line-up, which already consists of the UP Rave, UP Sense and the UP Ultra. But despite being the latest iteration, this one is on the lower-end category.
Both the Rave and Sense are currently priced at Php4,290 while the Ultra costs Php4,990. On the other hand, the UP Prime has an introductory price of Php3,990.
The difference in price might be due to the missing fingerprint scanner on the Starmobile UP Prime, which we saw in the other two. It also has a smaller display and battery capacity than the UP Ultra.
But nonetheless, the Starmobile UP Prime still packs some decent hardware. There’s a 5-inch 720p display, but with a disappointing TFT panel despite the 2.5D Curved Glass on top of it. There’s also a quad-core processor, but only with 1GB of RAM. Thankfully, it’s being powered by an acceptably large 3000mAh battery and it has a 4G LTE 700MHz support for faster connectivity.
