A new successor to Xiaomi’s foldable phones has been introduced. Check out the new Xiaomi Mix Fold 4.
The new Xiaomi Mix Fold 4 sports a thin and light design close to the current title holder, the HONOR Magic V3. They weigh the same, although Xiaomi’s bet is 0.2mm thicker than HONOR’s.
It features a special T800H carbon fiber that makes it lighter and 300% more impact-resistant than its predecessor. The Fold 4 also has a curved aluminum frame design.
What’s more, it is the first foldable from Xiaomi to have an IPX8 rating, which means it is water-resistant for up to 1.5 meters for 30 minutes.
It also got substantial upgrades in the camera department. We now have a 50-megapixel main shooter with a bright f/1.7 aperture and optical image stabilization.
It is joined by a 50-megapixel 2x telephoto lens with a 47mm equivalent and a 10-megapixel periscope-style lens with 5x optical zoom. There’s also a 12-megapixel ultra-wide lens and 16-megapixel sensors for each display.
Speaking of the displays, we have a 6.56-inch cover display with FHD+ resolution, 1-120Hz dynamic refresh rate, 2160Hz PWM dimming, and is protected with Xiaomi Shield Glass.
On the inside, we have a 7.98-inch foldable panel with similar specs as the outside screen but uses ultra-thin glass.
Like the Mix Flip and most of its competition, the Mix Fold 4 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 CPU with up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage.
The battery has a large 5,100mAh capacity with 67W wired and 50W wireless charging support.
The Xiaomi Mi Fold 4 has a price of CNY8,999 (~Php72,200), CNY9,999 (~Php80,300), and CNY10,999 (~Php88,300) for the 12GB/256GB, 16GB/512GB, and 16GB/1TB, respectively. Those are their prices in China, while release details in markets like the Philippines are yet to be known.
