Xiaomi is finally joining the foldable flip phone bandwagon with the release of the first Xiaomi Mix Flip.
The Xiaomi Mix Flip impresses right away with its large 4.01-inch cover screen. It occupies almost the entire surface, with cutouts for the main cameras. It looks similar to the new Razr+ and the Magic V Flip, and Xiaomi calls it the All Around Liquid Outer display as it has a functioning area of 16:9 aspect ratio so you can run apps with a normal look.
We have a 6.86-inch OLED panel for the main foldable display with a high 120Hz refresh rate and 3000 nits of peak brightness. It also has a good mechanical hinge that can fully close the device with no gaps and lets you operate the device between a 45-degree to 135-degree angle.
The main display has a 32-megapixel selfie camera. There are two 50-megapixel cameras on the cover screen. The main one has a bright f/1.7 aperture and offers good dynamic range. The other is a 2x telephoto with a 46mm equivalent that’s great for portraits.
It is powered by a proper flagship chip, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, attached to a large 3500mm² vapor chamber to keep it cool.
The battery has a 4,780mAh capacity — one of the biggest on a flip phone. It is paired with a speedy 67W HyperCharge adapter. It will ship with Xiaomi‘s Android 14-based HyperOS.
Those who are in China can get the Xiaomi Mix Flip for a price of CNY5,999 (~Php48,200) for the 12GB/256GB, CNY6,499 (~Php52,200) for the 12GB/512GB, and CNY7,299 (~Php58,600) for the 16GB/1TB. It should arrive in the Philippines soon, so stay tuned for that.
