Xiaomi has done it again. The new Redmi Note 6 Pro definitely has a lot of great things going on with it. It was able to get close with the Huawei Nova 3i’s features, despite being noticeably cheaper.

However, that doesn’t mean the Huawei’s offering has lost this battle. While Xiaomi’s bet is cheaper,  the Nova 3i still has a few better features over the Redmi Note 6 Pro that justifies the extra money that you’d be paying.

For starters, the Nova 3i comes with 128GB of storage, which is way more than the top-of-the-line model of the Redmi Note 6 Pro, which only comes with 64GB of space.

In addition, its 24-megapixel + 2-megapixel front and 16-megapixel 2-megapixel rear quad-camera setup is more appealing than the 20-megapixel + 20megapixel and 12-megapixel + 5-megapixel sensors of the Redmi Note 6 Pro. The Nova 3i’s AI scene detection and tons of novelty features also make taking pictures more enjoyable.

As for the performance, we expect these devices to have identical speed and reliability. Xiaomi used the Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 processor on the Redmi Note 6 Pro, while Huawei utilized their own Kirin 710 octa-core processor on the Nova 3i.

But in terms of gaming, the Huawei Nova 3i might handle most games better thanks to its GPU Turbo technology.

Both devices also have identical screen sizes at 6.3-inches with Full HD+ resolution. They also run on the same Android version, although they are skinned with their own respective user-interfaces.

Probably the only main advantage that the Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro has over the Huawei Nova 3i is the battery. Xiaomi’s offering has a 4,000mAh battery, which is becoming a standard capacity to Xiaomi’s midrange releases. On the other hand, the Nova 3i only has a 3,340mAh battery.

To finally wrap it up, the Huawei Nova 3i offers a really compelling value for its price of Php15,990. But if you don’t mind losing some of the extras that it offers, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro can provide an identical performance and experience for a cheaper price. The 3GB/32GB model retails for only Php10,999 while the 4GB/64GB variant is priced at Php12,990.

  1. You forgot to mention that huawei puts a lot of bloatware on their phones, sure every company puts their own bloat, but huawei, samsung tops the list. My co worker just bought the huawei y6 2018 which had 2gb ram and 16gb storage, i was playing with it and out of the box its was soooo slow. the camera shutter takes a while. Total crap and I told him to buy the Redmi 5A instead.

  2. Both the phones are looking good. However, with the option of 6 GB ram, i think Redmi outscores Huawei. Redmi’s pricing is also very good. Of late Redmi has come up with some really wonderful phones and this one is just an addition to it.

Thanks for sharing, have a good day. :)
