Foldable phones have really matured. So much so that we’re starting to see affordable options, like this one from ZTE, the Libero Flip.
The ZTE Libero Flip has a 1.43-inch cover screen with a 466 x 466 resolution — reminiscent of the Phantom V Flip. Dubbed the Sub Display, you can use it to control music, see notifications, make calls, and use it as a viewfinder for taking selfies with the main 50-megapixel camera.
Meanwhile, the main screen is a tall, folding 6.9-inch OLD panel with an FHD+ resolution. It has a punch-hole for the 16-megapixel selfie camera.
Under the hood, it is powered by a humble Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 processor with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.
For a 2024 phone, it’s disappointing that it still ships with Android 13 with ZTE UI on top.
As expected, the battery is relatively small at 4,310mAh, which charges via a 33W adapter. It has an IP42 water and dust resistance, which shouldn’t matter as this certification is so low even a splash of water can still hurt the device
The ZTE Libero Flip is available in Japan for JPY63,000 (~Php23,400), and just like most phones launched in that country, it may not arrive in other markets.
