Apple has released a refresh to one of the most popular TWS earphones in the market, the new AirPods 4.
From what it looks like, the AirPods 4 has more improvements than the also-new iPhone 16 series and iPhone 16 Pro series. For one, it now comes with an ANC (Active Noise Cancellation), a feature that used to be exclusive to the AirPods Pro.

The ANC features Adaptive Audio and Transparency Mode. The H2 chip can intelligently recognize the type of noise you’re surrounded by and apply the right amount of cancellation.

It can also detect if you’re engaging in a conversation and will lower the volume and enable Conversation Adaptiveness. Personalized Spatial Audio was added as well.
Apple also boasted that they’ve mapped the ears of a large pool of users to make the new design more comfortable to the ears and to help improve the acoustic design for better sound quality.

The new non-Pro AirPods also come with a smaller and lighter charging case, which now charges via USB-C, via your Apple Watch charger, or a more standard Qi-certified wireless charger. A speaker is also built-in to the case so it rings when using Find My.
It lasts up to 30 hours with the charging case, 5 hours of continuous listening, and 4 hours with ANC on. Moreover, the stems still have a force sensor so you can control media playback and calls.

One big addition to new Apple earphones, including the updated AirPods Max, is their hearing accessibility features, which let those with hearing disability use the new AirPods like a hearing aid. The feature will be out as a software update in the coming months.
The AirPods 4 is listed on the Apple Philippines website for a price of Php8,490, while the AirPods 4 with Active Noise Cancellation retails for Php11,490.
