The automotive industry continues to bounce back since the pandemic after it posted yet another year-on-year growth.
According to the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines (CAMPI) and Truck Manufacturers Association (TMA), there were 30,643 units sold in April 2023. While that may be a 16.9% month-on-month drop, it’s 21.8% better compared to the same period last year.

That means that, from January to April 2023, there are 127,927 units sold across the Philippines. This results in an impressive 28.1% year-on-year spike.
So, who are the best-selling car brands in the Philippines from January to April 2023? Check the list below:
- Toyota: 59,328 units
- Mitsubishi: 23,378 units
- Nissan: 8,510 units
- Ford: 8,069 units
- Honda: 5,901 units
As per CAMPI president Atty. Rommel Gutierrez, the industry is optimistic that they will fully recover from the challenges brought by the pandemic as “the economic outlook remains favorable,” they also believe that they can even surpass pre-pandemic numbers.
In fact, the auto industry “has already recorded said growth trajectory in the past four months compared to 2019 levels,” Gutierrez added.
