ASUS got the attention of a lot of people when they announced the Zenfone Max Pro M1. This device has a set of features that are really enticing for those who are looking for a smartphone under the sub-Php10k range.
ASUS has their Zenfone 5 line-up to keep each segment of the market entertained. But in the lower midrange category, the ASUS Zenfone Max Pro M1 is their best offering to date.
However, that doesn’t mean that it’s the only option on the market. There are also other devices available like the OPPO F7 Youth, but it costs considerably more money than the Max Pro.
The F7 Youth is riding on the hype that was made by its bigger brother — the OPPO F7. This device also has appealing specs. And for its price tag, it is also one of the best devices that you can get.
Which between these two smartphones is the one for you? Should you go with ASUS’ offering? Or are you better off with OPPO? Go ahead and check out our ASUS Zenfone Max Pro M1 versus OPPO F7 Youth specifications and features comparison to help you decide.

Before heading to the final conclusion, let’s first digest the table above, shall we?
As you can see, these two devices actually share identical specs all throughout. To start off, both phones have the same 6-inch Full HD+ display and an 18:9 aspect ratio. Another similarity is that they don’t have the infamous notch as it was reserved in their brand’s higher-end models.
They don’t use the same chipsets, but the ones they have are the best midrange processors that are out in the market today. ASUS went with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 processor — which is one of the most proven and reliable chipsets around.
On the other hand, the OPPO F7 Youth went with the MediaTek Helio P60 processor. This thing is actually newer and is built with a better 12nm process. OPPO’s offering also comes with an extra gig of RAM and twice the storage capacity of the ASUS Zenfone Max Pro M1.
They also look similar in the camera department. Both handsets have the same 8-megapixel front cameras, but as per our experience, OPPO’s AI-powered software handles selfies better. However, that’s not the same story in the rear cameras as the Zenfone Max Pro comes with an extra 5-megapixel sensor, while the F7 Youth only has a single 13-megapixel camera.

While these phones sure have a lot of similarities, I think we have to hand the win to the ASUS Zenfone Max Pro M1. For starters, it has a noticeably bigger 5,000mAh battery, while the latter only has a 3,410mAh capacity. ASUS also managed to squeeze in a fingerprint scanner on the back, while the F7 Youth only relies on the face unlock security feature.
It also runs on stock Android 8.1 Oreo — which is a good news for a lot of Android enthusiasts out there. And lastly, the ASUS Zenfone Max Pro M1 is significantly cheaper than the OPPO F7 Youth.
The ASUS Zenfone Max Pro M1 has a price Php9,995. Meanwhile, the OPPO F7 Youth costs Php13,990. That’s almost Php4,000 in price difference. Both phones have their own pros and cons, so it’s up to the consumer to decide if they will prioritize the selfie capabilities of OPPO, or they would choose the bigger battery and vanilla Android.
