There’s great anticipation surrounding the new Xiaomi Redmi Note 7. While it’s yet to be made available, a lot of people are already praising this incredible device.
The Redmi Note 7‘s specs sheet is already enough to impress most people. And truthfully, we’re not really that surprised about what Xiaomi was able to pull off as they have been doing it for years.
The Redmi Note 7 is going to be one of the best smartphones in its price category when it comes out. But out of curiosity, we want to see how it stacks up against its own blood.
Here we have the Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro, its closest predecessor that’s available in the Philippines. Despite being a few months older, this device still packs a punch for the price. And we shall expect its price to go down as it gives way to the imminent arrival of the Redmi Note 7.
With that, here in our Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro versus Redmi Note 7 features and specs comparison, we shall see if the former is still worth getting and can offer better value for the money, or should you just wait for the fresh one to arrive. Let’s begin.

Let’s jump right in. The top-of-the-line model of the Redmi Note 6 Pro retails for Php12,990, and that only comes with a 4GB/64GB memory and storage configuration. On the other hand, the Redmi Note 7’s most expensive variant already has a 6GB/64GB combo and is expected to arrive in the Philippines in the range of Php11,000-13,000.
Given that the Redmi Note 6 Pro will surely have a price drop eventually to compensate, this battle is still a sure win for the Redmi Note 7.
For starters, it has a more powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor, than the Snapdragon 636 chip that the latter has. Having a better chipset also means a more powerful GPU (Adreno 512), making it better for gaming.
While both devices have the same 4,000mAh battery, the Redmi Note 7 gets a one-up by sporting Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 4.0 technology.
Of course, we have the Redmi Note 7’s biggest feature, the 48-megapixel primary camera. That easily towers the 12-megapixel shooter that the latter has. We shall also expect pixel-packed sensors like this in more phones this 2019.
But to give the Redmi Note 6 Pro some credit, it does have a better 20-megapixel + 2-megapixel selfie snappers on the front, while the former only has a single 13-megapixel shooter.

There’s also the small things like the USB Type-C port, Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection, and the more attractive and shiny design. Clearly, there’s not a lot of reasons why you should consider the Redmi Note 7 over the Redmi Note 6 Pro.
Xiaomi is yet to reveal the official arrival date and pricing of the Redmi Note 7 here in the Philippines. But to give you an idea, the device retails in China for a price of CNY999 (~Php7,700) for the 3GB/32GB model, CNY1,199 (~Php9,200) for the 4GB/64GB variant, and CNY1,399 (~Php10,800) for the 6GB/64GB configuration.
On the other hand, the Redmi Note 6 Pro is available in the country for Php10,999 for the 3GB/32GB and Php12,990 for the 4GB/64GB model (although discounted for Php12,490 most of the time).
