Unlike other brands, Xiaomi is very much committed to bringing the latest Android has to offer in their smartphones. Now, they have announced that the Android 9 Pie update is coming to some of their latest releases.

Update cycles are different depending on the manufacturer, but most of them don’t care at all about software updates after their devices land in the consumers’ hands.

While Xiaomi’s MIUI is heavily skinned, it packs useful features that its users have come to enjoy. That makes it harder to port to a newer OS version, but that isn’t stopping the Chinese company from providing the update. Flagships like the Xiaomi Mi 8 and Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 already got a taste of it and they’re eyeing to deliver it to midrange and entry-level smartphones next.

Here’s the initial list of Xiaomi devices getting the Android 9 Pie update:

No concrete date has been set as of the moment, but the company says that the internal beta will be ready this Q1 of 2019. The stable release will probably follow several months afterward once they finish ironing out bugs and other issues.
