With Huawei’s guidance, Honor has been one of the most sought after brands in the industry today. This sub-brand created a lot of interesting releases, allowing them to make a name for themselves.
Their latest smartphone, the Honor 10 Lite, is expected to launch in the Philippines very soon. And it’s safe to say that people can’t wait for its arrival.
Honor’s success is one of the reasons why Xiaomi prompted to take their Redmi line-up as a standalone brand. However, they are still under the same umbrella, so you can expect the same quality devices at honest prices from this sub-brand.
Their first release, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 7, is also gaining a lot of buzz recently. Much like a lot of Xiaomi’s own releases, this device packs a lot of enticing features that will put its competitors to shame.
But, is Honor’s latest offering part of the Note 7’s kill list? We’ll figure that out in our Honor 10 Lite versus Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 specifications and features comparison.

There are a lot of things to like about the Honor 10 Lite. However, the comparison table above clearly shows that it has nothing against the new Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 when placed side-by-side.
For starters, the Redmi Note 7 offers a ludicrous 48-megapixel + 5-megapixel dual rear cameras. That easily towers the 13-megapixel + 2-megapixel shooters that the former has.
In fact, we expect to see more devices in 2019 to sport this much megapixel on a mobile camera. As of the moment, we already have the Honor View 20 and Huawei Nova 4 that has this feature. Realme also claims that they are also working on a smartphone with a 48-megapixel camera.
However, Honor still dominates the selfie department. The 10 Lite sports a 24-megapixel front-facing camera, which is relatively better than the 13-megapixel selfie snapper of the Redmi Note 7.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 steals back the spotlight thanks to its 4,000mAh battery with Quick Charge 4.0. This will provide better battery longevity and faster charging times than the 3,400mAh capacity of the Honor 10 Lite.
We also have its Snapdragon 660 processor, which is proven by many to perform better than the in-house Kirin 710 chipset of the Honor 10 Lite. That’s despite the fact that Honor’s offering has their GPU Turbo 2.0 technology.
Moreover, the Redmi Note 7 gets extra points for sporting a USB Type-C port (versus the microUSB on the Honor 10 Lite), Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection, IR blaster, and Bluetooth 5.0.
The Honor 10 Lite does run on a more dated version of Android, but a software update can easily fix that for the Xiaomi Redmi Note 7.

Besides its better specs sheet, the most obvious win for the Redmi Note 7 is the price. This thing starts at only CNY999 (~Php7,700) for the 3GB/32GB model, while the Honor 10 Lite begins at CNY1,399 (~Php10,600).
The top-of-the-line model of Xiaomi’s offering comes at CNY1,399 (~Php10,800) with a 6GB/64GB configuration. Meanwhile, the 6GB/128GB variant of the 10 Lite costs CNY1,899 (~Php14,300).
Sure, the Honor 10 Lite has more RAM and storage capacities than the Redmi Note 7 variants. But that’s still not enough to justify the higher price premium that it has over the other.
The availability details of the Redmi Note 7 in the Philippines are yet to be announced. On the other hand, the Honor 10 Lite will launch locally this January 22.
This is going to get killed by the Redmi Note 7.
Under Php10,000 would be really competitive once the Redmi Note 7 arrives in PH. :-)
