A lot of the rumored Samsung Galaxy A-series devices are finally out. But before we see all of them, let’s take a look at some of the ones that we have now.
What we want to focus is the Samsung Galaxy A50 from a couple of weeks ago and the Samsung Galaxy A70 that made its debut to the world just a few moments ago.
Unlike the other Galaxy A devices that we already saw, these two devices are easily the more exciting ones. Coincidentally, they also have tons of similarities with each other. Just like their flagship Galaxy S10 series, you can look at the Galaxy A70 as the “Plus” model, with the A50 as its smaller brother.
With that, here in our Samsung Galaxy A50 vs Galaxy A70 specs comparison, we want to see what’s the difference between these two and, ultimately, help you decide which one to get. Let’s begin!

If better specs and features are what you need, the Samsung Galaxy A70 clearly have the win on this one. For starters, it has a more appealing set of cameras. It sports a 32-megapixel selfie snapper and primary sensor on the back.
The device is also powered by Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 675 octa-core processor. And of course, there’s the gigantic 6.7-inch Super AMOLED screen with an equally enormous 4,500mAh battery.
However, since it has a really tall screen, the Galaxy A70 is inevitably a large device. Which may not appeal to those who people who want a more compact and easy to hold handset. If you’re one of those people, then you might be better off with the Samsung Galaxy A50.
This device features a tinier 6.4-inch FHD+ screen and a smaller, but still impressive, 4,000mAh battery. The interesting part is it still a lot of identical features over its bigger brother.
For starters, it uses an identical Super AMOLED screen with an FHD+ resolution and an in-display fingerprint scanner. It also runs on Android 9 Pie with Samsung’s really streamlined One UI, just like what we saw on the Galaxy S10 flagships.
We’re yet to test out the Snapdragon 675 processor on the Galaxy A70. But, as per our initial time with the Galaxy A50, we can say that its Exynos 9610 is a really reliable chipset. We shall drop our Galaxy A50 review in the coming days to stay tuned for that.
It’s also worth noting that both devices come with the same 6GB of RAM and 128GB of expandable storage.
Although the Galaxy A50 only has a 25-megapixel front and primary cameras, it still comes with the same 8-megapixel ultra-wide shooter and a 5-megapixel depth sensor.
Bottom line is, if having uncompromised specs and features is a top priority and carrying a smartphone this large is not a big deal, then the Samsung Galaxy A70 is the one for you.
But if you want something more compact, then you might be better off with the Samsung Galaxy A50. The compromises are so minor that settling for the smaller, more budget-friendly option is not such a bad idea.
Speaking of prices, the official SRP of the Galaxy A70 in the Philippines is yet to be announced. But we can surely expect it to be priced higher than the Galaxy A50, which retails for Php17,990.
