Premium midrange smartphones allow you to get close in owning a capable high-end smartphone, without having to spend too much money for it.
If you’re in the market for a device like that, we’ll be comparing some of your top options in this category. The latest one is the new Vivo V19.
Although its price is yet to be announced, we expect it to retail in the Php18k to Php20k category, judging by the premium features that it has.
This makes it a great competitor to the Samsung Galaxy A71. It currently retails for Php22,990, but when the V19 arrives in the Phillippines, we expect the price to go down a little bit, closing in on the possible SRP of the V19 in the country.
With that, here in our Vivo V19 versus Samsung Galaxy A71 specifications and features comparison, we’ll see which between the two is worth your time and money. Let’s begin.

Vivo’s latest mid-range smartphone is one of the company’s best attempts in making one. However, the table above clearly points out that the Samsung Galaxy A71 is the better smartphone than the Vivo V19.
For starters, the Galaxy A71 has a better and faster processor. It comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G chipset, with an Adreno 618 GPU that should handle games really well. We have a gaming review of this device for a detailed look at its performance.
The Snapdragon 712 processor on the Vivo V19 might be underpowered, but it does come with a copper tube liquid cooling for improved thermals.
Another big win for the Galaxy A71 is the rear cameras. It has a 64-megapixel main shooter, which will obviously take better images than the 48-megapixel camera that the Vivo V19 has.
We also have the 12-megapixel ultra-wide and two 5-megapixel macro and depth sensor. They should offer sharper images than the 8-megapixel (ultra-wide) and two 2-megapixel cameras of the latter.
But to Vivo’s credit, the V19 does come with an 8-megapixel ultra-wide front-facing camera. It lets you easily take group shots with friends and family.

The Vivo V19 also has 33W charging support which is faster than the 25W of the Samsung Galaxy A71. Although both devices come with the same 4,500mAh battery capacity.
Both phones also have in-display fingerprint scanners for a cleaner design, a newer USB Type-C standard, 8GB of RAM for seamless multitasking, and at least 128GB of storage for all your photos, games, and other media.
In conclusion, the Samsung Galaxy A71 has a more powerful processor, bigger screen, and better rear cameras — allowing it to win this specs comparison. But if the Vivo V9’s price ends up to be reasonably cheaper, then it should be an acceptable budget alternative to Samsung’s offering.
