Four ex-GCash executives realized their passion for collectibles by starting Toki, the first social commerce platform for collectibles in the Philippines.

The goal of Toki is to simplify how collectors purchase collectibles online — eliminating the tedious process of talking to different sellers from various social media and messaging apps — by having one single, reliable app.

Some of the most popular collectibles in the Philippines are Sports Cards, Funko Pops!, LEGO, and of course, sneakers. These four are the first categories that Toki feature upon launch.

Toki is confident that there’s money to be made as a study they conducted with GMO Research revealed that the collectibles market in the Philippines is valued at a whopping USD5 billion (~Php280.6 billion).

But despite that staggering value, collectors still struggle to sell and purchase collectibles due to the lack of a dedicated marketplace. That’s something Toki is trying to address, as they have also teamed up with GCash and NinjaVan.

The website will also have a live-stream auction platform for live-selling items and auctioning hot items.

Toki is backed by different strategic investors like Globe’s Ernest Cu, and prominent collector and celebrity Bigboy Cheng. The company also aims to take its business outside the Philippines.

You can try the service through their website www.tokiasia.com
