After a leak that caught people’s awareness about the new Crash Bandicoot title in development, Activision has finally officially declared its latest title in the franchise with Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time.
Originally a brainchild of Naughty Dog, which saw the creation of the entire series, including the recent trilogy remakes, it is now being developed by a new game developer, Toys for Bob.
As per the developer, Crash Bandicoot 4 will follow the events that ended in the third title in the trilogy as set in the future. It features Crash, Coco, and Neo Cortex, among others, as playable characters.

Players can choose to play interchangeably between Crash and Coco due to their similar movesets. But parts of the game will force players to take on the role of Neo Cortex who has his own unique set of moves, including the ray-gun capable of shifting enemies and hazards as a platform.
In addition to a slew of playable characters, the game will also feature “quantum masks” which individually grants players unique ability. So far, two has been revealed including the time mask that slows down events in the game, and the gravity mask that reverses the pull of gravity.
Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time is already deep in its development and is slated for release on October 2, 2020 in both Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Potential release on either PC or the Switch is uncertain at this point.
