Playing multiplayer games with friends online is nothing new. But to do so while actively on a video call, then that’s something fresh—and Meta is investing in that idea and innovation as it incorporates multiplayer video games with Facebook Messenger.
Made accessible now via the Messenger app on iOS, Android, or the web, users will be able to select from a list of 14 games, which includes favorites such as the Mini Golf FRVR, Words with Friends, Exploding Kittens, and Card Wars.
Intended solely as multiplayer titles, the menagerie of games can be played by as few as two people, with others offering a varying maximum number of players.

Furthermore, with the Messenger environment in mind, each game in the roster is specially optimized with well-defined leaderboards and an immersive user interface.
Playing a game with family or friends on Messenger is as easy as starting a video call, tapping the group mode button, tapping the “Play” button, and then choosing a game to play with from a library of titles currently on offer.
While Meta may be testing the waters with only 14 titles, Facebook Gaming suggests that more games are still on the way later this year.
