Mobile Legends: Bang Bang or ML is one of the most popular MOBA games in the Philippines because it’s simple to play. You can even play this game from whatever starting point and expertise you are from.
However, there are some aspects of the game that can give you an added advantage (even to the slightest gain) over other players. This includes skins and emblems.
For this article, we’ll dive deeper into emblems, their importance, and how you can use them to enhance your hero performance.

What are Emblems in Mobile Legends?
Emblems are a hero-enhancement feature in Mobile Legends that allows users to increase and add certain attributes and effects on top of their hero’s natural and passive skills progression. These emblems can give their heroes additional properties, bonus stats, and buffs in-game.
One of the more important aspects of the emblems is that it’s been recently revamped to increase its impact on the users while playing the game. Prior to this update, emblems were specific only to your hero roles. For instance, if you’re using a mage, you will likely use a mage or magic emblem containing attributes and talents.
Now, you can mix and match your talents to your preference, regardless of your hero role. However, Moonton recommends using the default builds, especially for newer players.
Emblems are also one of the features of Mobile Legends that (in a way) reward older or high-level accounts over newer accounts of the same rank. This is because it takes more time and resources before you can increase and max out the levels of your emblems.
This means that even if you’re skilled as a Smurf player, someone who has unlocked and leveled up their emblems will have an advantage of additional stats and effects.
How can you unlock Emblems?
After creating your ML Account and completing the required tutorials, you will still need to play a few more games before you can unlock your Emblem Features. To access your Emblems:
Step 1: Your Account Level must reach at least level 6.
Step 2: Tap “Preparations” on the lower right side of your screen.
Step 3: Click on “Emblems” below Battle Setup. This will bring you to the Basic Common Emblems page. You can click the Function Guide at the top side of the screen to give you an overview of the revamped emblems.

Step 4: Click “Upgrade” to level up your emblem.
Your Basic Common Emblems must reach Level 25 to unlock Role-specific Emblems. Each role (Tank, Assassin, Mage, Fighter, Support, and Marksman) has its own emblem sets.

Step 5: Collect Emblem Fragments and Magic Dust to level up your emblems. You can get them from the following sources:
- Playing Emblem Matrix.
- Purchasing Emblem Chests and Packs.
- Playing Lucky Spin.
- Playing Magic Wheel.
- Completing Daily Quests and Limited-time Tasks.
- Becoming a Starlight member and claiming Magic Dust every week.
- Unlocking Free and Medal Chests.
- Becoming a mentor.
Note: The max level of each emblem set is 60. After each emblem set reaches the max level, emblem fragments are automatically converted into Magic Dusts, which you can use to level up other emblem sets.
What attributes do Emblems improve?
Depending on which emblem you choose to level up, they will add certain properties to your heroes, such as Attack Speed, Extra Max HP, Physical and Magic Penetration, Cooldown Reduction, Adaptive Attacks, Physical and Magic Defense, Movement Speed, Critical Chance, Critical Damage, and Equipment Discounts.
Aside from basic attributes, some emblems can create special effects for heroes, called core talents, like dealing extra damage, slowing down heroes, after-kill and after-assist regens, higher AOE Damage, etc.
Increasing your Emblem Set Levels will also increase certain attributes for each hero role. More on these later.
What are Talents and Emblem Sets?
To better understand emblems, you need to look at them based on the general classifications: talents and hero sets.
Emblem Talents
The talents are the nitty-gritty of the Emblem feature. These talents are divided into two general categories – standard and core talents. There are currently 16 types of standard talents and 8 core talents, each with specific qualities and bonuses.
Emblem Sets
Regarding the emblem sets, there are currently seven (7) sets you can choose from, depending on the hero you use. Each emblem set has two default standard talents and one core talent, except for the Basic Common Emblems, with four standard talents and two core talents.
However, you can also customize them by replacing the default talents – two standard and one core talent – with any emblem talents you unlock.
To unlock specific talents per role, you must reach the following key emblem levels:

Level 1: Your emblem set attributes will become available, providing basic buffs on your stats. However, there are no additional talents yet.
Level 5: The first key level is at level five, where you can increase some key attributes.
Level 10: You will unlock the Tier 1 Standard Talent.
Level 15: You will unlock the Tier 2 Standard Talent, which can trigger under certain circumstances.
Level 20: You will unlock the Tier 3 Core Talent, giving your heroes special and powerful effects.
Level 25 and beyond: You will gradually increase the bonus attributes.

How to edit your Emblems
If you’re unsatisfied with the default emblem talents on your Custom Emblem Sets, you can replace them with others while retaining the primary attributes.
For this example, we will use the Fighter emblem set and add an Assassin emblem. Here are the steps to edit your emblems and replace them with another. You can also do this with other emblem sets.
Step 1: On your home page, tap “Preparation” on the lower left side of your screen.
Step 2: Tap on ‘Emblems.’
Step 3: Select the talent you want to use and tap “Equip.”

Step 4: Afterwards, you will see your newly equipped talent with a green check mark, indicating that you successfully replaced the default Fighter talent with one from an Assassin.
Step 5: You’re done. You can now equip them with your heroes.
How to apply your Emblems on ML heroes
After you edit your emblems, you can implement those changes to one or more of your heroes’ emblems. To do this:
Step 1: Click on the helmet icon on the lower right part of your screen.
Step 2: Choose one or more heroes to implement the emblem change.

Step 3: Select the Emblem set you want to change, then click “Replace.”
Note: You can also change your emblems during the preparation phase of a game.

How to strategize with your Emblems
After learning about the importance of emblems to improve your gameplay, here are some strategies you can implement on your emblems.
1. Upgrade and max out your main hero Emblems first.
If you’re just starting out and are still confused about Emblems, upgrading and maxing out your main heroes’ emblem sets first is the best strategy. Doing this will help you avoid wasting your Magic Dusts on another emblem set you rarely use.
Magic Dusts are scarce resources you need when leveling up your emblems, which is especially crucial if you’re still in the lower levels and ranks. So, you must use this to increase your main emblem sets first.
For example, if you’re a Marksman user, it’s best to upgrade your Marksman Emblems first to maximize its effect on your game heroes.
2. Don’t waste your magic dusts
Don’t worry about not maximizing your other hero emblems on the get-go because they will eventually level up as you collect more role-specific emblem fragments.
For instance, you can only use your Assassin emblem fragments to level up your Assassin Emblem Sets. The same is true for the other Role Emblem Sets.
After reaching the emblem set’s max level of 60, any role-specific emblem fragments you collect will automatically be converted to magic dusts, which you can use to level up your other emblem sets.
3. Mix and match
You can combine different Standard and Core Talents from various emblem sets to improve certain attributes or to get other effects on your main hero. Doing this will allow you to add another level of hero improvement without buying any equipment.
For instance, you want to play X. Borg as a semi-tank while increasing his survivability after using his ultimate skill. In this case, you can choose Tenacity from the Tank’s Standard Talents so X. Borg’s defense will increase at low HP. You can also do this to any other hero you want. You can also experiment with different emblem talents to see which best suits your play style.
The revamped emblems are a great move forward to creating a more dynamic playing field for players who want to increase their hero attributes and gain powerful skills. It also opens up more possibilities for advanced players to mix and match emblems to test possible combinations for game day.
