Chinese tech giant NetEase is being sued by Riot Games for the game Hyper Front allegedly copying “substantial parts” of Valorant.
Other than having the same format, Riot Games claims that NetEase apparently copied Valorant’s character and weapon designs, maps, and more for Hyper Front.

It is said that Riot Games filed the lawsuit in Wales and England, and will also bring it to Brazil, Singapore, and Germany.

Just like Valorant, Hyper Front is also a first-person free-to-play shooter game in five versus five matches via different modes.
As per Riot Games, NetEase started the development of Hyper Front after they launched an early version of Valorant in October 2019. In fact, the Chinese company also mimicked the code name. Valorant’s early version was called “Project A” while Hyper Front’s beta version was called “Project M.”

A lot of players of Hyper Front can back this claim as they say it is essentially a copy of Valorant. These claims pushed NetEase to make changes to the game. Albeit, Riot Games said that the infringement goes beyond that.
