The latest Nintendo Direct presentation was jam-packed with news and surprises, one of which is sure to delight retro gaming fans. The premium subscription service Nintendo Switch Online will be adding a new membership type called Expansion Pack that adds a selection of classic Nintendo 64 and SEGA Genesis games.
So far, the list of Nintendo 64 titles that are confirmed to arrive in the Expansion Pack includes The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Super Mario 64, and Mario Kart 64. For Sega Genesis, titles include Sonic 2, Castlevania: Bloodlines, and Gunstar Heroes. Some of the games will have online multiplayer functionality that supports up to four players.

The classic controllers of Nintendo 64 and Sega Genesis are also returning, this time with wireless Bluetooth connectivity. Both will sell for $50 apiece, but no release date has been announced so far.
As for Game Boy and Game Boy Color games, it looks like they’re not coming “very soon” as previously rumored.
Slated to launch next month to which existing subscribers can upgrade, the Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack will come with a yet-to-be-announced added price.
