For avid PlayStation 3 and 4 gamers, you might’ve noticed your system having trouble launching games, applications and accessing online features the past few days. Users are also experiencing some problems when searching their friends and joining parties. Don’t worry if you’re one of those lucky people who is experiencing this problem, as it is not just you who is experiencing this issue.
Is high traffic the cause?
Though it is not the confirmed reason, the first error started at January 26, 2018, exactly the day Monster Hunter: World and Dragon Ball Fighter Z were released. The high traffic those two games generated might’ve been too much for the PlayStation Network to handle, causing the server to experience some issues.

PlayStation has not released a statement regarding the issues but had this to say for those having trouble with the PlayStation Network.
