A few days before the big CES 2020 tech event, Samsung went ahead and introduced two new products under its Odyssey gaming line. Meet the new Samsung Odyssey G9 and G7 gaming monitors.
Let’s start with the most interesting one, the Samsung Odyssey G9 gaming monitor. This ultra-wide behemoth of a monitor spans at 49-inches and the first two have a Dual QHD resolution of 5120 x 1440 pixels.
It uses a Quantum dot panel with a whopping HDR1000 VA panel that can have 1000 cd/m2 of peak brightness. Since it’s a gaming monitor, it has a fast 240Hz refresh rate and 1ms response time, quite impressive for an ultra-wide display like this.
Of course, there’s the aggressive gamer design. It features a glossy white exterior with a glowing core that surrounds the stand mount. The core can beam 52 different colors with five light effect options.
We also have the Samsung Odyssey G7 gaming monitor. Available in 27-inches and 32-inches, this one also has a curved design like its bigger brother. It will also use Quantum dot technology.
The Odyssey G7 has a 16:9 aspect ratio with its QHD 2560 x 1440 pixel resolution. It uses an HDR600 VA panel that can achieve 600 cd/m2 peak brightness. The lightning core is still here, with the addition of dynamic shapes and lighting effects on the front bezels.
