The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) and the University of Mindanao (UM) have created an app that will help monitor the beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps).
Called the Project e4PsMap, the initiative led to the creation of a dashboard system, data analytics-driven application, and monitoring system for neonatal and maternal outcomes for Digos City. The project allowed the LGU to track the adherence and effectiveness rates of the program to its beneficiaries.
The project was funded by the DOST-PCIEERD (Philippine Council for Industry, Energy, and Emerging Technology Research and Development) under the Good Governance through Data Science and Decision Support System (GODDESS). It was developed by UM, who also headed the training of social workers for data updating, verification, warehousing, and analysis.

DOST-PCIEERD Dr. Enrico Paringit praised the UM team that helped create the app and is optimistic about its benefits to 4Ps beneficiaries.
The project helped Digos City’s LGU to accurately determine if social interventions are effective, allowing data to aid in decision-making.
Other than the Project e4PsMap, the DOST-PCIEERD has also helped fund and promote the development of other emerging technologies — from AI, data analytics, and more.
