For travel without worry during the new normal, the Department of Science and Technology is recommending commuters to use a new app named Safe, Swift, and Smart Passage, or S-PASS for short.
The S-PASS app is a two-part system: one being a travel management system for travelers, local government units, and monitoring agencies to have a single point for communication and information dissemination, and the other being a local mobility management system that’s essentially an electronic logbook in lieu of pen-and-paper logging.

With many provinces having varying levels of travel restrictions per their COVID-19 active cases, travelers may be confused on how to reach their destinations. S-PASS addresses this issue; it’s a one-stop portal for looking up information and submitting travel requirements.
Government agencies such as the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LFTRB) have begun implementing mandatory use of S-PASS, requiring travelers to register before they’re allowed to board buses and other means of transport
