In our previous article, we laid down the step-by-step procedures in applying for the Department of Labor and Employment’s COVID-19 Adjustment Measures Program that gives P5,000 financial assistance to qualified workers.

Due to the general guidelines, clarifications on specific circumstances kept piling up. The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) promptly answered the most frequently asked questions which we compiled below.

Are probationary and newly-hired employees entitled to DOLE CAMP?

Yes, all employees in the private sector are eligible including those who are permanent, probationary and contractual workers.

Can we still avail of the CAMP even if we already received our 13th month pay?

Yes, the advanced 13th month pay given by employers are not considered to be a substitute for the loss of income.

I used my leaves since I cannot come to work. Can I avail of the DOLE CAMP even if I still have leave credits left?

Yes, because your used-up leaves is considered income reduction.

As a work from home employee, I am paid my full salary. Can I still avail of the DOLE financial support?

No. Only employees with income reduction or loss are entitled to CAMP.

If a payroll is not available, can we submit our pay slip instead?

Yes. A pay slip can be substituted for a payroll.

Is there a limit to the number of employees in each company that will be entitled to DOLE financial assistance?

None. There is no maximum limit of employees in your company. As long as you meet the qualifications, you are entitled to CAMP.

How can we receive the financial assistance?

The financial assistance will be remitted directly to the bank account of the beneficiary-worker and not thru the employer. If no bank account is available, it will be transferred thru money remittance.

If I work in a large company, am I still covered by DOLE CAMP?

Yes, but priority will be given to workers in Micro, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises.

What is the application process for branch offices?

The application process is the same for branch offices. They can apply to the DOLE Regional/Field/Provincial Office within its jurisdiction (appropriate DOLE office in their area).

Are JobStart beneficiaries covered by DOLE CAMP financial assistance?

Yes. JobStart beneficiaries in the internship phase are entitled to CAMP because they are included in the company payroll, but only if there is an income reduction.

What if our employer/company does not want to apply for the DOLE CAMP?

You may give your company’s information to DOLE so they may arrange and encourage your employer to apply on behalf of you and other affected employees.

If you are from the informal sector (jeepney/tricycle drivers, street vendors, construction workers, etc.), you may apply to DOLE’s TUPAD #BarangayKo, Bahay Ko (#BKBK) Disinfection/Sanitation Project where you can temporarily work and earn an income for your family’s basic needs.

For inquiries about local and overseas employment, labor rights, work conditions and various programs, you may call the 24/7 DOLE hotline 1349.
