The Metro Manila subway project is starting to materialize now that the tunnel construction has begun.
Set to be operational by 2027, the underground work for the Metro Manila Subway project has begun after the tunnel boring machine (TBM) has been put in position. The said machine can do 12 meters of drilling each day.
With the Department of Transportation (DOTr) on-site, the first TBM was positioned last weekend at the Valenzuela depot.

The said project will apparently use 25 TBMs that can dig up to 600 cubic meters of soil.
This upcoming underground railway system will be 33 kilometers long and will connect Valenzuela City to Pasay City with 17 stations in total. The government.
In its first year of full operations, the subway is expected that the subway system will be able to serve 370,000 passengers per day.
It is said that the travel time from Quezon City to the Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Pasay, which is currently 1 hour and 10 minutes, will be cut to just 35 minutes.
