Converge ICT Solutions‘ parent company ComClark Network and Technology Corp. is offering a hand in disaster response situations by giving responders, including seawater vessels and the military, access to the internet via satellite communication solution.
Filling a demand, ComClark’s Satellite Communications (SatCom) On-the-Move seeks to provide a safe and reliable internet connection within the maritime sector, with infrastructure backed by Converge’s pure fiber technology.
With the satellite playing a central role, the solution entails the use of a cutting-edge flat-panel antenna for transferring data, which is then relayed to the Earth station as operated by the ComClark Teleport. The antenna can be onboarded to any moving sea vehicle, including yachts and ships.

Explaining further what the flat-panel antenna they use is, ComClark discloses it as a Kymeta u8 Hawk, a next-gen VSAT that can be manipulated electronically and is specially designed for movement. Additionally, the Kymeta u8 Hawk is designed in preparation for low-Earth orbit (LEO) systems, akin to SpaceX’s Starlink.
SatCom On-the-move offers limitless satellite-based internet without a data cap. However, ComClark COO Benedicto Bulatao claims that the bandwidth allocation varies per customer.
Although the company calls niche enterprises its customers, Bulatao said that they are also seeing other applications of their service aside from leisure. Particularly, in disaster response and the military sector.
Despite admitting that satellite internet is indeed expensive, the executive says that its convenience and business-ready nature makes it worth it.
