Apple’s much awaited iOS 17 release is finally happening on September 19 in the Philippines. This new update brings features like the Standby mode, Journal app, and improvements in messages among others.
The new iPhone 15 series launched with iOS 17 out of the box, but the software upgrade is also coming to a bunch of older iPhones.

iPhones NOT supported by iOS 17
Unfortunately, three iPhone models will not be able to run iOS 17: iPhone 8, 8 Plus, and X. These devices will not receive the latest software updates from Apple. Additionally, iPhone 6 and iPhone 7 series devices were excluded from receiving feature upgrades with the introduction of iOS 16 last year, so they will stay with iOS 15.
If your iPhone model is not included in the list of compatible devices mentioned above, it means that it will not be able to support iOS 17, and you will not receive a notification to download the new software. But don’t worry, as Apple will continue to provide security updates for your devices in the next few years.
