Yi Technologies has unveiled a new “Lite” version for their action camera — as if the standard version wasn’t affordable enough. Welcome the new Yi Lite Action Camera.

Back in January, the company announced the Yi 4K+. That monstrous, rugged, and tiny camera that boasts 4K video recording at an impressive 60fps. But if that’s just way too surreal for you, or you just want a cheaper alternative, then here comes the Yi Lite Action Camera.

The Yi Lite can still record video clips, but only at a slower 15fps. The recording sweet spot is at 1440p with 30fps or 1080p at either 30fps or 60fps. But for some real slow-mo goodness, you have to sacrifice the quality to 720p to achieve that 120fps smoothness.

All that is possible thanks to its 16-megapixel Sony Exmor sensor and the Hisilicon processor. It also has a 150-degree wide-angle lens to make sure everything fits in the frame.

You can interact with the Yi Lite Action Camera via its 2-inch touchscreen that’s protected by Corning Gorilla Glass. Alternatively, you can use Yi’s smartphone companion app to control the camera and transfer files for easy upload. The action camera is equipped with dual-band WiFi for seamless connection. It also sports Bluetooth 4.1 to receive commands from the optional remote.
