OnePlus Open, the highly anticipated foldable phone from OnePlus, has finally received an official launch date. Along with the announcement, some leaked specifications and images of the phone have surfaced, adding to the excitement surrounding its release.
The launch date was confirmed by OnePlus itself on X (Twitter), accompanied by an image of the phone and the tagline “Open for Everything.” The event will take place in Mumbai, India, on Thursday, October 19. The launch will start at 10AM ET, which is around 10PM in Philippine time.
OnePlus has also introduced a launch page on its website, where users can sign up for updates, place a deposit for the phone, and enter a prize draw to win one of the foldable devices.

According to a tipster on X, the OnePlus Open is expected to come with impressive specifications. It is rumored to feature 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. The phone will also include a telephoto camera that offers 6x optical zoom, as part of a triple-lens rear camera setup.
The color options for the device are reported to be Voyager Black and Emerald Dusk. Additionally, the OnePlus Open is expected to offer 67W charging speeds and is said to house the largest battery in a foldable device. It is also rumored to be the thinnest foldable available in North America, possibly exceeding the slimness of the HONOR Magic V2.
Interestingly, the leak also revealed a potential price point of $1,699, making it $100 cheaper than both the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 and the Google Pixel Fold. This aligns with a previous rumor that had circulated a couple of days ago.
