When you thought the Nokia Lumia 1520 was a large smartphone with its 6-inch screen, think again. The new Ramos Q7 is a Windows Phone with a large 7-inch display.
Such size basically puts the Ramos Q7 not among smartphones, but tablets. It’s running Windows Phone 8.1 though, so it’s still a smartphone. Its slim design, thin bezels and display aspect ratio also indicate that this device is meant for use as a smartphone. If ever a Windows 10 update arrives on this device, the differences won’t matter.
Apart from being a large smartphone, there’s nothing much to drool about the Ramos Q7. It has entry-level specs. Running under the hood is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 processor with up to 1.4GHz clock speed. There’s 1GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. The display utilizes IPS technology and has 720×1280 HD resolution. Finally, there’s a 5-megapixel camera at the back and 2-megapixel camera in front.
Ramos Q7 has yet to be tagged with a price and release date. And it seems to be limited to China for now. Maybe one of our local players could distribute this device, so we can experience what it’s like to use Windows Phone 8.1 on a very large display.
