Just when we taught that Tizen-powered smartphones are dead, Samsung is not giving up on it just yet. The company is now releasing the follow-up to the Z3 – the Samsung Z4.
It took the Korean tech giant more than a year to come up with a handset that will succeed the Samsung Z3. This is really understandable considering how incredibly busy the company has been with various product launches and failures.
But despite every good or bad fortune that Samsung has, they are still not giving up on these Tizen smartphones. Samsung’s plan on the refreshed Tizen devices is to offer it to emerging and developing markets. That’s the reason why they will be initially launched in India.
But with that in mind, we can expect that this one is gonna be a bit underpowered. There are no groundbreaking features here, for sure.
And judging by the limited Samsung Z4 specifications the company has released, it looks like it is really meant for those who are just looking for a casual handset for basic tasks.

Samsung hasn’t revealed the official price and the release date yet. But if I were to guess, this device will be under Php5,000 or Php6,000. And since it is runnings on a doubting operating system, the Samsung Z4 should be cheaper than the company’s current J series for it to be able to take off.
