Quad-core smartphones are getting more and more affordable these days that even those with the strictest budget can buy one cheap without sacrificing on features. The newly announced SKK Mobile Phoenix G1, for instance, is a 5-inch Android-powered handset with a quad-core chip and full of features for only Php3,799.
Based on the specs alone, the SKK Mobile Phoenix G1 is a decent smartphone that offers a lot for its price. Running on Android 4.4 KitKat, this 5-inch device boasts an IPS display. UI navigation and apps should perform ever so smoothly thanks to a MediaTek MT6582 chip (the same chip that powers the Huawei Honor 3C and the Php3,999 MyPhone Rio Lite), Mali 400 graphics, and 1GB of RAM. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, dual 3G SIM with dual standby, and Bluetooth 4.0.
The SKK Mobile Phoenix G1 also has an 8-megapixel main camera along with a generous 5-megapixel front-facing camera. If ever the 8GB internal storage won’t be enough to keep all your media files and apps, there’s an external microSD expansion that can support up to 64GB. The only downside to this phone in terms of hardware is its qHD resolution.
