Hanson Robotics, a Hong Kong robotics company, is seeking to mass produce Sophia, a speaking humanoid robot, in order to promote automation in light of the ongoing pandemic.

Founder of Hanson Robotics, David Hanson, told Reuters that the move comes in response to the world’s pressing demand for “more automation” and the need to “keep people safe.”

Optimistic at the prospect of the venture, Hanson is hopeful to bring their machine-like product to the world by the thousands within the first-half of 2021 alone, as per Reuters.
