The headphones of a lady traveling from China to Australia exploded while she was using it.

The woman from Adelaide sued Apple right after the incident. However, Apple said that they will not give any compensation to the complainant. The reason? Apple blames a third-party issue, which has caused the unfortunate incident.

Based on a report from The Verge, the headphones in question could possibly be an older Beats product.

According to Apple, their investigation indicated that a third-party battery caused the incident.

Apple had already stopped offering battery-operated headphones long ago, a rule that they have also applied in Beats products when they purchased the brand in 2014. However, the victim said she purchased the duty-free unit in 2014 and got the batteries later in Australia.

On the victim’s defense, she said – “The headphones don’t work without batteries, yet nowhere on the headphones – or their packaging – did it specify which brand of batteries should be used,”

This kind of news is no laughing matter. The fact that we’re seeing reports of devices exploding from time to time is really alarming. Furthermore, hazardous headphones are more rattling as they attached in our head. We just hope that companies improve the product safety in their designs before something like this happen again.
