Huawei has finally unveiled the new HarmonyOS 2.0 during its online developer conference a couple of days ago. They also revealed that the new operating system will be coming to its devices by 2021.
But that doesn’t mean that you have to buy a new smartphone to experience HarmonyOS 2.0. Huawei confirmed to Android Authority that some smartphones will be able to upgrade in the future.

It’s not yet clear if all EMUI 11 supported devices will be able to get HarmonyOS 2.0. In addition, the company has not confirmed if it’s optional or a mandatory switch to the new platform. Nevertheless, it’s probably Google-free like recent Huawei devices.
Huawei has not shown any working prototype of a HarmonyOS smartphone, so we still don’t know how it looks and its features. What we know for sure is that Huawei has cross-device integration and support at the of their priority list.
If given the chance, would you upgrade to Harmony OS and leave Android?
Yes for sure.
