Can’t use GCash because of the age limit? Well, that’s not an issue anymore, as the e-wallet service just launched GCash Jr.

The GCash Jr. was a service created for minors aged 7 to 17 years old. As per the company, it will give youngsters access to digital financial services as well as exclusive treats like gaming vouchers and discounts, fandom deals, and premium access to shows, music, and other content.

As per GCash, one of the goals is to allow young users to be “financially aware and responsible at an early age.”

The GCash Jr. has a cleaner dashboard to easily access features like Pay QR, purchase load for game skins and credits, and GLife for merchant deals, food, fashion, tech, and more.

For the funds limit, GCash Jr. has a wallet size of up to Php50,000 and a Php10,000 daily limit for sending and receiving transactions.

For safety and security, GCash Jr. still uses a KYC (know-your-customer) process.

What are the requirements for GCash Jr.?

Users aged 7 to 17 years will only need to submit a photo of any of the following IDs: National ID, passport, or student ID. The parents of the applicant will also have to submit their fully verified GCash account for reference.

The parent will then need to take a selfie with the ID submitted by the applicant. The applicants will also have to submit a photo of their birth certificate. Once completed, all they have to do is wait for an SMS confirmation that the GCash Jr. account has been fully verified.
