Honor has not one, but two new smartphones up its sleeves. Just recently, the company has confirmed the existence of the Honor 8X and 8X Max, and are slated for an official release on September 5.

There’s not a lot of details available regarding the upcoming Honor 8X and 8X Max smartphones. However, a Chinese benchmarking app did confirm that the “Max” version will be powered by a Snapdragon 660.

It looks like Honor tapped Qualcomm with this one, instead of going with their own Kirin processors just like what they did on the Honor 7X.

The device is also rumored to have a ginormous 7.12-inch FHD+ screen with a 2244 x 1080 pixel resolution. This will make it one of the biggest (literally) smartphones in the market once it becomes available.

There’s also a chance that Honor will adopt the trendy V-shaped notch that we saw on other midrange devices today such as the OPPO F9. This means that it will have a higher screen-to-body ratio that’s possibly even better than the Xiaomi Mi Max 3.

A TENAA report also suggests that both devices will have at least 4GB of RAM and a large 4,900mAh battery. The said notch will accommodate a single 8-megapixel selfie camera, while on the back there’s going to be a 16-megapixel + 5-megapixel dual-camera setup.

The Honor 8X and 8X Max launch date are just a couple of days from now. So make sure you’re on the lookout as we’ll be bringing you more details about them once they become official.
