HTC returns Philippines

HTC will return to the Philippines. The Taiwan-based company’s success sprung alongside Android in the early days. HTC was well-known for their old Desire line-up up to the HTC Ones. However, the Taiwanese brand had a hard time making a splash in the last couple of years.

Fast forward to today, it looks like HTC finally got their act together and is ready for a return.

According to Unbox, they were able to speak with Benedict Buhain, HTC’s Business Development Manager for the Philippines. Buhain stated that the brand is staging a comeback in the Philippines.

Back in the day, we used to see HTC devices in retail stores. And that’s exactly what the company is trying to reclaim. However, they will first utilize online stores as an initial platform to sell their products.

HTC-U11

They will start offering devices in June, with some of their current smartphones on the forefront. Expect to see the HTC U Play, Desire 10 Pro, One A9S and U Ultra officially land in the Philippines.

The company will also bring their latest flagship, the HTC U11 – which garnered tons of attention due to its unique “squeeze” feature and excellent camera.

There are several online gadget stores offering imported HTC devices in the country. But the thing is, having an official and direct distribution from the company translates to better after-sales and customer services.

HTC is yet to unveil the official price list of the handsets. However, they promised to offer the devices at competitive prices to take on their competitors. That’s really something that the company really needs since the high-end market in the country is currently dominated by the flagships from Samsung, Sony, and Apple.
