Huawei is set to release its first 5G smartphone in the Philippines — the Huawei Mate 30 Pro 5G.

The announcement was made after Huawei Philippines posted a teaser video on its official Facebook page. No date was given. But if we were to speculate, the Huawei Mate 30 Pro 5Gwill launch this month, possibly to go against the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S20 and the new iPhone 9.

UPDATE: It’s now in the Philippines.

Unlike its non-5G sibling, the Mate 30 Pro 5G uses a special Kirin 990 5G processor that enables its ultra-fast network technology.

But other than that, it is still the same Mate 30 Pro that we’ve known before. It may lack Google Mobile Services, but it does come with unique and powerful hardware to compensate.

There are the killer cameras on the back, which we were able to shoot an entire video with and got amazing results. It also features an all-screen design that melts on the sides, a sleek aesthetic on the back, a large battery, and more.

As for the 5G model, make sure you stay tuned as we’ll be providing you with more details once they are out. The 4G-only Mate 30 Pro is available in the Philippines for Php50,990 when it first launched, but Huawei dropped the price by Php4,000.
