Huawei is already in the testing phase of the upcoming Android 8.0 upgrade of their extremely popular midrange smartphone, the Huawei Nova 2i.
Announced on the official Huawei webpage, the Android 8.0 Beta is now available for download for those who want to get a taste of the new software.
In case you’re interested in trying it out, please be reminded that the Beta 8.0 update might still have some quirks and little bugs that need to be fixed. But considering that Huawei is already releasing it to the public, we’re confident that it’s now very near its final form.
Huawei Nova 2i smartphones that can participate in the Beta program are those with the following build numbers:
- RNE-L22C636B132CUSTC636D001
- RNE-L22C636B141CUSTC636D002
- RNE-L22C636B142CUSTC636D001
Remember that this is a Beta version, so make sure to secure your important files and make back-ups in case everything goes south before you decide to install the upgrade.

The beta firmware test run will begin from March 7 up to March 21, 2018.
According to Huawei, the official release of the Huawei Nova 2i Android 8.0 software update is set in the second half of 2018.
