The iPhone SE series is ripe for a refresh. The 3rd generation model was introduced way back in 2022 and now, it seems like Apple is in the final stretch in releasing the 4th installment to their budget smartphone line.

Unlike the regular iPhones that refresh yearly, the iPhone SE series has a 3-year cycle. Hence, it is expected that the iPhone SE 4 will come out in March 2025.

As for the specs, rumor has it will have a 6.1-inch OLED Super Retina XDR display with 460 pixels per inch. It will depart from the iPhone 8 design, lose the home button and TouchID, and adopt the notch design with FaceID we last saw on the iPhone 14. Sadly, no Dynamic Island.

Apart from the screen, it will have a similar battery to the iPhone 14. But, don’t expect it to look exactly the same as the next SE will still lack a secondary camera. Reports suggest that it will inherit the 48-megapixel rear and 12-megapixel front cameras of the iPhone 15.

It is also expected to have the new A18 chip found on the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus and will be the first to use Apple’s own modem instead of sourcing it from Qualcomm. Thanks to the A18 chip, it will support the AI features brought by Apple Intelligence.

The upcoming iPhone SE 2025 model is also expected to have IP68 dust and water resistance, 2nd-gen Ultra-Wide Band (UWB) chip, NFC, and of course, will ship with the latest iOS 18.

We shall have more details about the device soon, so stay tuned for that.
