The new chipset brings all the innovations that its predecessor have, plus new features that will greatly improve the performance of future premium midrange smartphones. The new MediaTek Helio P22 chipset is built from a TSMC 12nm FinFET manufacturing process.
The Helio P22 processor also has some of the innovations of the higher tier Helio P60 chipset. These include better AI-backed features, faster wireless connectivity — all for premium midrange smartphones.
It has an eight-core ARM Cortex A53 processors clocked at up to 2.0GHz. There’s also dual-camera support, dual 4G LTE, improved Edge AI with MediaTek’s NeuroPilot technology. The MediaTek Helio P22 will also offer other accelerated camera features, smart photo albums, portrait mode, and more — all of which are the benefits of the improved AI support.
Other than the dual 4G LTE, the Helio P22 will also bring WiFI 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac to midrange smartphones. It will also come with Bluetooth 5.0 which we are only used to seeing in high-end smartphones.
The MediaTek Helio P22 can be found on the recently launched Vivo Y85. It’s now available in the Philippines for a price of Php13,999.
