Nokia-6-Lazada-PH

Nokia under the control of HMD Global, a Finnish company, recently launched its first Nokia-branded Android smartphone which goes by the moniker Nokia 6 in China.

The smartphone turned out to be a popular one with registrations for the traditional flash sale model of selling phones in China seeing an interest level running into over 1 million. The device was said to have been sold out in just one minute when it finally went on its first flash sale.

The Nokia 6 was only available in a black variant and is yet to ship outside China but interestingly popular retailer in the Philippines, Lazada Philippines has advertised that the Nokia 6 will be available for purchase earlier today at 12 noon on its website.

Another interesting thing about this revelation is that the device would also be available in a white variant instead of only the black version when it was first revealed a couple of hours ago. Even China is yet to get a white variant and yet it is hitting the Philippines, perhaps showing the huge potential of the market. The device also comes with a Php18,590 price tag, which is significantly higher than the 1699 yuan ($245, Php 12,000) cost in China. You can even get the option of getting it via cash-on-delivery and it comes with free shipping.

UPDATE: HMD Global says that the white version of Hellotroics is ‘fake’.

As for the specs, the Nokia 6 sports a 5.5-inch display with 1080 pixels resolution. It is powered by a Snapdragon 430 chipset which is backed by a huge 4GB of RAM. There is 64GB of storage onboard with the option of notching it further via microSD. On the camera end, the device carries a 16MP rear sensor with a single LED flash lying just underneath it, while there is an 8MP front-facing camera for sleek selfies up front. There is also a 3,000mAh battery crammed inside the device. At the back, there’s a fingerprint sensor for added security. The Nokia 6 has a rugged build that retains the durability trademark which the Nokia brand was initially known for.
