It looks like OPPO really wants to push their brand forward this 2018.
In a press release, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer said that that they will attempt to enter more developed countries by supporting new technologies that will make their products better.
In the Qualcomm Technology Day that happened in China, OPPO, together with other companies like Vivo, Xiaomi, and more, have teamed up with Qualcomm for its “5G Pioneer Initiative”. Qualcomm signed a memorandum of understanding worth $2 billion with the said manufacturers.
According to Tony Chen, OPPO’s CEO, the company will invest in technologies like the 5G network and Artificial Intelligence so they can offer the said features in their future smartphones.
The company plans to release 5G-enabled smartphones in 2019.
