It appears that OPPO has already come up with a follow-up to the first Reno and Reno 10X devices. Just recently, the company announced the official release date of the new OPPO Reno 2 series.
Save the date as the new OPPO Reno 2 series will make its official debut on August 28, 2019, in New Delhi, India. The said country will also get first dibs on the new devices.
OPPO didn’t provide too many details about the devices’ features. However, the teasers show that the higher-end model might come with 20X of zoom. A clear step up to what the OPPO Reno 10X Zoom have.
The invite materials also suggest that it will come with a quad-camera setup. The first Reno 10X Zoom only came with three. There’s the 48-megapixel Sony IMX586 shooter, a 13-megapixel sensor with a periscope-style telephoto lens, and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera. The addition of a depth-sensor might complete the foursome for the Reno 2.

It will also have a new Ultra Steady Mode in videos, which could work like the Super Steady mode on the new Samsung Galaxy Note 10.
The new models will retain the same design that their predecessors have. There’s the sharks-fin pop-up camera, which allows for an almost bezel-less, all-screen display.
There’s also the O-dot ceramic node on the back that prevents the rear cameras from being scratched. To learn more about the Reno 10X Zoom’s design and all of its features, you can check out our full review.
OPPO is still mum about the rest of the specs. But considering we didn’t see any new kind of processor that came out since their predecessors, we expect the new models to come with the same Qualcomm midrange and high-end processors.
We shall learn more about these devices once they become official on August 28, so stay tuned for that.
