For the first half of the year 2020, PLDT, Inc. and Smart Communications, Inc. provided the fastest Internet speeds for fixed and mobile connections, according to Speedtest.net developer Ookla.
Based on Ookla’s trademarked Speed Score, PLDT has a score of 24.79 for fixed Internet during the first and second quarter. Its closest competitor, Converge ICT Solutions Inc., has a score of 21.53. Meanwhile, in mobile Internet, Smart has a score of 18.33, while Globe trails behind with 12.35.

During the same period, PLDT had on average top download and upload speeds of 70.54 Mbps and 85.38 Mbps, respectively, both of which are far ahead than the closest competitor. It’s also well above the overall average of the Philippines as of June 2020.
Smart, on the other hand, had an average of 15.94 Mbps and 7.57 Mbps for mobile download and upload. Globe comes in second with 11.96 Mbps and 4.03 Mbps on average.
