Realme 5i, the brand’s newest midrange smartphone is making its way to the Philippines. The company confirmed that the device will officially be unveiled on January 29. It will be the Realme’s first smartphone offering this year.
This latest Realme handset was first launched in Vietnam and India a couple of weeks back. The phone shares almost similar specs with that of its older sibling – the Realme 5.
However, the main differences between these two lie with the front camera and the design. The Realme 5i only has an 8-megapixel front camera, an obvious downgrade from the 13-megapixel of the Realme 5. In terms of design, the Realme 5i is available in green and blue options. Unfortunately, we still have to wait and see if both colors will be available in the Philippines.
When it comes to the display, the Realme 5i has a 6.5-inch HD+IPS screen and a small notch at the center. It also comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon 655 processor with 3GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. It’s not yet running on Android 10-based Realme UI, but we’re sure it will get the software update as scheduled.
The phone has four cameras at the back. It has a 12-megapixel main shooter and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera. The other two sensors are the 2-megapixel macro and the 2-megapixel depth sensing lens.
The Realme 5i is equipped with a huge 5,000 mAh battery with a microUSB port. Security-wise, it has a fingerprint scanner at the back and a face unlock feature.
Realme will release the official pricing and availability in the Philippines in the launch event on January 29. Stay tuned.
