Vivo V5s Bokeh Mode - NoypiGeeks

It was just announced that a new update will add a Bokeh Mode for the Vivo V5s. This is despite the device not having a dual-camera setup.

Normally, the Bokeh mode is only available to devices with two cameras pointing in the same direction — just like on their Vivo V5 Plus. The company is trying to mimic the effect you’ll get from two cameras with the V5s’ single shooter.

The success rate of achieving this “Inspired by DSLR Technology” effect with only one camera can be a bit sketchy. In our review of the OPPO F3 and F3 Plus (both of which sport two selfie cameras), we’ve figured out that even with two sensors, these Android smartphones are struggling to execute. It can hardly separate the foreground from the background. Hence, making the depth-of-field effect look really fake.

With that said, considering that the Vivo V5s only has a single camera in both the front and back, we’re really not sure if it will work as it should be. But we’ll be saving our final thoughts once we get our hands on it.

For now, you can download and install the update and try it yourself. If you have tried it out, let us know what you think in the comments below.
