The Xiaomi Black Shark 3 Pro is easily one of the most feature-packed smartphones in the market today, and that’s no surprise for a gaming smartphone like this.

You’ve seen its edgy and chunky design and overwhelming specs list. However, you’re probably curious as to what’s inside this thing. Thankfully, YouTube channel JerryRigEverything is here to answer our questions with its the Xiaomi Black Shark 3 Pro teardown.


There’s a metal plate and ribbon cable that holds the hour-glass-shaped metal on the back to the main chassis.

The entire motherboard is placed in the spine of the device, buried under a couple of large copper heat pipes for better cooling system, which is really important for a gaming smartphone like this. This thing comes with a flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 5G processor and an Adreno 650 GPU.


The teardown also confirms that the Xiaomi Black Shark 3 Pro, in any of its three cameras, don’t have OIS.

It also reveals the individual speakers that consists the stereo audio, which are noticeably large.


After removing a bunch of connectors, screws, and even the display, the motherboard has been finally set free.

You can notice that there are also heat pipes on the back. Sandwiching the motherboard with cooling should greatly improve the thermals, and ultimately, the device’s overall performance.



Moreover, after removing 29 more screws on the main chassis, the dual battery array is revealed. Dividing the 5,000mAh battery into two 2,500mAh individual modules is what makes its whopping 65W fast charging support work, without overheating or blowing up the device.

The interesting part is, after the intricate teardown, the YouTuber was able to put everything back together and the phone booted up normally — which basically means gives the Xiaomi Black Shark 3 Pro’s repairability gets a high mark.
